2008 SUPERMOTO AUSTRALIA

The dates for 2008 ASM Supermoto are almost confirmed, we have listed them below because of the large amount of enquires. ASM Promotions will run the major races early for 2008, due to a number of reasons:

  1. To keep away from the USA AMA championships as more and more of our top riders are looking at USA rides for 2008.
  2. To allow riders from other disciplines to do Supermoto prior to their regular seasons starting. For 2008 we will also run the drop a round rule, again to make it easier for named riders to do Supermoto.
  3. The post championship press for the 2007 season will only add to the exposure of the 2008 Supermoto series.
  4. We will be limiting the rounds to 2 day events to help keep the rider costs down, all events except rounds 2 & 3 will be just weekend events.

Other Rules we are looking at implementing are:

    • Tyre Restriction to one set of marked Slick Tyres per race day, Wet tyres will be open
    • These are the major reasons for the date changes, then each state will have their own respective series after these dates. With the major races early the plan is that this will improve the rider numbers for the state based series.
